Today is day number two thirty four here in Busan South Korea. Today there was no game. It's the last day of 추석 holiday which is actually the Korean thanksgiving. Today's the last day. Most people have off from work. We had a short practice today and I just kind of went around town and enjoyed myself. I know I get Koreans hard time about the behavior on the subway and behavior on the subway in the States is odd too. But today, I ran into 4 foreigners on the subway that had some very odd inappropriate behavior I guess is what you would like to say. They were from out of town and they were being very loud, drawing a lot of attention to themselves and they were lost. So I tried to help them and I was quiet because I knew if I was loud, more attention would be drawn to me, and that would obviously be a cause for concern. So I quietly told them how to get to where they needed to go. And one of them realized finally that I was talking quietly and told his friends "hey be quiet" 그 중 한명이 마침내 내가 아주 작은 목소리로 말한다는 사실을 알고 나머지 친구들에게 "조용히 좀 하자"라고 말했는데 And one of the friends said "I don't have a quiet voice" which I found to be very ironic since they were English teachers. If their students were to say "I don't have a quiet voice", I don't think they would take too kindly to that. So yeah, you know, don't let this be a direct representation of foreigners.
I know a lot of Koreans have a perception of foreigners here. But I would think that most foreigners would realize that they are in a different place and they need to make a good impression. At least I know I try to. Hopefully it comes across that way. Yeah, subway etiquette. I think I can make a whole Youtube series on subway etiquette in Korea. That's all I got for today.
