The Economist 기사인데 아르메니아가 패전해서 터키가 나고르노-카라바흐를 통해 아제르바이잔, 중앙 아시아, 그리고 중국 일대일로와 이어져 그 육상 교역로를 따라 터키 상품을 수송할 수 있게 되었답니다.

그 육상 교역로는 일단 평화유지군을 보내는 러시아가 통제하고.

Turkey is a big beneficiary of it. It is to get access to a transport corridor through Armenian territory from the Azerbaijani enclave of Nakhchivan, which borders Turkey, to the main bit of Azerbaijan and the Caspian Sea, thus linking Turkey to Central Asia and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

Russia will control the road itself, but Turkish and Chinese goods will travel along it, and all parties stand to benefit economically. “This trade route could transform the entire region and become the main staple of a peace settlement,” says Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan’s American-educated economy minister.

그리고 2018년에 집권한 아르메니아의 현직 총리가 러시아 푸틴 대통령의 친구인 아르메니아의 전직 대통령을 잡아 넣아서 푸틴을 화나게 했다고 하네요.

 참고로 터키-아제르바이잔-카스피 바다-투르크메니스탄-카자흐스탄-중국으로 이어지는 일대일로가 'Middle Corridor'라고 불리고 터키가 주도합니다.

The Middle Corridor meanwhile, which is led by Turkey, lies at the heart of the BRI linking Turkey to Georgia and Azerbaijan via rail, crossing the Caspian Sea and reaches China through Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
