2021.08.28
The first prototype of a combat exoskeleton equipped with
electric motors, which can be part of the outfit of a soldier
of the future, was created in Russia , the state corporation
Rostec told RIA Novosti at the Army-2021 forum.
"The exoskeleton, which we are creating together with our
colleagues from the Research Institute of Mechanics of
Moscow State University. Lomonosov, reduces the load on
the musculoskeletal system by 50%, energy costs when
running and walking - by 15 percent, allows you to carry up
to 60 kilograms of cargo and shoot from automatic weapons
20 percent more accurate, "said Bekkhan Ozdoev, industrial
director of the cluster of weapons, ammunition and special
chemistry at Rostec.
The newest exoskeleton operates in two modes. In active
mode, a person's physical capabilities are enhanced by
servo drives - gearless electric motors powered by batteries.
The mode is activated when a soldier moves over rough
terrain or mountains. In passive mode, the exoskeleton is
designed to move on a horizontal surface with a load.
