The Philippine Navy has posted photos of the sea trials of the first two Shaldag Mk. V fast attack interdiction craft for the Philippine Navy.
Both were built in Israel Shipyard's facility in Haifa and conducted the sea trials in Israel.
The FAIC are armed with the Typhoon 25mm or 30mm naval gun and two Mini Typhoon RCWs for 12.7mm heavy machine guns from Rafael Advance Systems Ltd.
Based on the photos, it appears that both ships are among the 5 units that will not be armed with the Typhoon MLS-NLOS missile launchers for the Spike NLOS missile upon delivery.
It would be remembered that only 4 of the 9 FAICs will be armed with the missile, although the photo also shows that there is an allocation for them should the Philippine Navy decide to procure and install them in the future.
It also appears that the FAIC can be controlled from the outside, similar to yachts, with expected redundancy from inside the protected bridge.
All photos credited to the Philippine Navy.
