1~2척의 포항급 초계함은 한국 해군이 이전할 수 있는 4척의 선박이 아직 남아있는 Flight IV 모델이 될 것입니다.  PCC-773), 전 대한민국 성남함(PCC-775), 전 대한민국 제천함(PC-776), 올해 말까지 퇴역할 2척의 함정, 4편함 ROKS 대천함(PCC-777)  ) 및 비행 V ROKS 속초 (PCC-778).

또한 필리핀 해군에 할당될 수 있는 가용성 또는 필리핀 해군이 추가 선박을 수용할 수 있는 능력에 따라 추후 포항급 초계함을 추가로 획득할 가능성도 있습니다.

MaxDefense PH received information from several of our sources confirming that aside from the acquisition of the Pohang-class Flight IV corvette ex-ROKS Andong (PCC-771), the Philippine Navy is negotiating for the transfer of one or two more Pohang-class corvettes from the South Korean Ministry of National Defense.

The one or two Pohang-class corvettes would be Flight IV models, in which the Republic of Korea Navy still have 4 ships available for transfer, which includes the Flight IV ships ex-ROKS Wonju (PCC-769), ex-ROKS Bucheon ( PCC-773), ex-ROKS Seongnam (PCC-775), and ex-ROKS Jecheon (PC-776), with two more ships for decommissioning as well by end of the year, the Flight IV ship ROKS Daecheon (PCC-777 ), and Flight V ROKS Sokcho (PCC-778).

If these plans materialize, the Philippine Navy will have 4 Pohang-class corvettes at best, which includes the ex-ROKS Chungju (now BRP Conrado Yap) and ex-ROKS Andong.

There is also a potential to acquire additional Pohang-class corvettes at a later date depending on availability that could be allocated for the Philippine Navy, or the capacity of the Philippine Navy to accept additional ships.

It would be noted that Indonesia appears to have rejected an offer from South Korea to transfer Pohang-class corvettes, as Indonesia prefer to acquire more new ships instead. So this means South Korea could potentially accommodate requests from the Philippines for additional Pohang-class corvettes.
