Report: Real Madrid want Spurs star and it isn’t Eriksen

Christian Eriksen has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid over recent months and the speculation intensified after the Dane revealed last week that he wishes to leave Tottenham Hotspur to seek a new challenge (Ekstra Bladet).

However, a report by Italian news outlet Calcio Napoli 24 has claimed that Real Madrid have turned their attention to Eriksen’s team mate Heung-min Son.

The South Korean has had an impressive season in North London having scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists in 48 matches in all competitions.

Son’s form in January in February saw him being tipped to challenge for the Premier League Player of the Year trophy, but his form dipped following the return of Harry Kane.

The report claims that Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane wants Manchester United’s Paul Pogba along with Son to add to his squad as part of his reshuffle following a disappointing domestic and European campaign.

Son is vital to Tottenham’s plans of trying to compete for silverware on a regular basis due to his ability to play in a number of positions and possesses the pace which Harry Kane severely lacks.

Madrid have reportedly cooled their interest in Eriksen after being quoted a transfer fee of €120million by Tottenham (Sport).
